Summer Solstice the Beginning of Summer

The summer solstice is when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky and gives us the year's longest day. This week the summer solstice is on Tuesday 21st of June, marking the beginning of summer and the Sun's ingress into cancer. Many cultures celebrated solstices throughout the years, including Egypt, as it marked the flooding of the Nile and their new year. 

As the sun moves out of the witty, curious sign of Gemini into the warm, protective sign of Cancer, we will feel a shift in the things that are focussed on. There will be a need to focus on nurturing and protecting those that we love, maybe even going to a nice restaurant or two. 

Although Cancer is an emotional sign, it cares deeply about its finances because it affords it the things it needs to be secure, making this an excellent time to review your finances, especially the bills you have to pay to run your home. 

The home decore may also come up in this time as Cancer is ruled by the Moon, which is all about our home, needs and emotions. So have some fun and see where in the home you can spruce things up with some new items or maybe move things around to get a new feel.

Venus in Gemini

Venus, the planet of love, pleasure and relationships, will be moving into the intelligent, changeable sign of Gemini on Thursday 23rd of June. 

This Venus in Gemini transit will help us to communicate with harmony and love. She is giving any Gemini placements a beautiful way to express themselves in our lives. 

Reaching out to our loved ones or prospective loved ones should have some very positive results. Making new connections both with people and with new ideas/concepts will be a great idea during this time as well.
