Have you ever seen that old movie from 1953, Kiss Me Kate? It has Howard Keel and Kathryn Grayson, a musical about putting on the Shakespeare play The Taming Of The Shrew. One of the best parts is when two characters sing a song, Brush Up Your Shakespeare, where they make it pretty clear that they didn't bother showing up to their dance lessons in real life, LOL.
I do have a soft spot for the bard, but today I'm talking about actual hair brushes. I've been on a journey for a while to find a good hair brush that is easy to clean. Do you even realize how much dirt and oil you're putting back in your hair when you use a dirty brush? Especially right after you've taken the time to wash your hair? Yup. And then you wonder why you get greasy so fast. And yet, a lot of hair brushes are not very easy to clean. The bare minimum is removing the loose hair after your brushing session, but the lint that builds up at the base of the bristles needs to be cleaned out every once in a while. The easiest way is to soak it or take it in the shower and scrub it with shampoo, yet a lot of brushes can't get wet like that. 🫤
I've tried several kinds, and the one I like best so far is our Flexi brush. It's all plastic and is easy to clean - I take it in the shower with me. And the flexible backing makes it really comfortable to use.

I highly recommend trying this out. We also have brushes with those soft cushion backings, but those are some of the hardest to clean. Wooden brushes also fall into this category, as I've personally found out. (You can't get wooden brushes wet!) Basically you just need something that you can get wet and be able to scrub. The Flexi brush has worked great for this, so it's easy to keep clean, which keeps your hair healthy. And it works for all hair types, even curly! (I've even heard stories of husbands claiming this brush for themselves and fighting anyone who tries to take it, LOL.)
