Now that spring is officially here, no matter what the calendar says, you know what that means, especially for us in the South?
Storms. Think thunderstorms and twisters. If you're by the coast, hurricanes. We've already had lightning and pea-sized hail and the threat of tornados just last week. Last year I was nearly in the path of a tornado, missed by a few miles. But that's a story for another time.
When it comes to storms, there's really not much we can do, since it's a force entirely out of our control. We can't dictate how big or small they'll be or schedule when they'll happen. All we can do is reasonably prepare and be flexible, and not be too surprised when they occur. Storms are a part of life.
That's no reason to be a negative Nelly, though! Storms can make us more grateful for what we have, and perhaps a little more generous when we know that everything we have can easily be taken away.
