We don’t talk anymore and it’s costing us.

Most relationships don’t end from hate. They fade because people stop talking.

Hey ,

This one feels personal but I believe it’s something our generation needs to hear.

I’ve realized that we underestimate the power of communication.

We assume.

We bottle things up.

We grumble.

And before we know it, we’re distant from people who genuinely care about us.

We internalize what we should talk about, and talk about what we should internalize.

A few weeks ago, a colleague of mine resigned.

We were on the same team, shared the same job description, we basically worked hand in hand.

When she submitted her resignation letter, she listed reasons that were valid, genuinely valid.

But as I read it, something struck me: these were things that could have been solved if she had just communicated them earlier.

When my boss asked for my thoughts, I told her honestly:

“She’s right.”

And interestingly, those same adjustments are what I’m now benefiting from today.

It made me think deeply about how many of us are suffering silently in friendships, relationships, families, and even at work, not because things can’t be fixed, but because we refuse to talk.

Your parents do things that upset you.

Your siblings annoy you.

Your boss frustrates you.

Your partner hurts you sometimes.

And instead of communicating, you bottle it up.

You become distant.

You smile on the outside and grumble on the inside.

That’s not strength, that’s silent frustration.

I’ve learned something:

communication doesn’t weaken a relationship, silence does.

You can express your thoughts without attacking.

You can say, “I’m not okay with this,” and still be honorable about it.

And here’s the truth:

You can express discomfort without being rude.

You can disagree without being disrespectful.

Even if the person doesn’t change, you’ll have peace knowing you spoke up.

Because silence corrodes the heart faster than conflict ever will.

So maybe this week, talk to your friend about that thing you’ve been holding in.

Talk to your sibling.

Talk to your boss.

Talk to your partner.

Don’t assume. Don’t guess.

Communicate.

It might just be the difference between a relationship that heals and one that dies in silence.

Keep growing,

Darasimi
