Hey ,
Growth is one of those words our generation loves.
Everyone wants to “grow.” Everyone wants to “level up.”
But we rarely pause to ask a very simple question:
What exactly is growing?
Because, truthfully, cancer is also a growth.
And nobody celebrates that.
Not every increase is good.
Not every movement is progress.
Not every “I’m doing something with my life” is taking you forward.
Sometimes what’s growing is the wrong thing entirely.
For some people, fear is growing.
For others, procrastination is growing.
Sometimes it’s pride.
Sometimes it’s laziness that has quietly taken root and is now spreading.
Sometimes it’s habits that drain you.
Sometimes it’s relationships that weaken you.
And the scary thing is that unhealthy growth often looks like motion.
You’re busy. You’re occupied. You’re doing things.
But when you check well, there’s no progress.
Just movement.
There’s a difference.
Movement burns energy.
Progress produces results.
This is why self-checks are important.
You need to ask yourself from time to time:
- What exactly is increasing in my life?
- Am I feeding what strengthens me or what weakens me?
- Am I becoming more disciplined or more distracted?
- Am I building myself or draining myself?
You grow whatever you nurture.
If you nurture excuses, they flourish.
If you nurture discipline, it multiplies.
If you nurture bad habits, they spread quietly until they become your identity.
So be intentional about the kind of growth you pursue.
Some growth heals you.
Some growth destroys you.
It’s not about “more.”
It’s about what kind of more.
Choose the type of growth that aligns with who you want to become.
The kind you can look back on in five years and say,
“Yes, this moved me forward.”
Your Fave,
Darasimi
