Last week I asked what you thought of beards and heard from a pant-load of you! Although there were a few ladies who are like my sister, preferring a smooth face, the overwhelming majority like your man with some stubble!

Here are just a few of the responses that made me smile.

You overwhelmingly love bearded men!

"I'm into full beards, like a mountain man. After work I visit a store and there is sometimes a man visiting too. He has a thick full beard and shortish black hairs. If I had a chance I would climb up on him like cats up to the Christmas tree."

"I too fell in love with my husband while he had a beard, and I insisted stringently that he had to keep his beard for the wedding."

"Full beards. I've only seen my husband without a beard once in 43 years."

"I’m a sucker for beards lol. I don’t know what it is. I guess it makes a man look manly and macho."

"My husband was on a golf trip with a couple of his brothers and friends seven years ago and came back with a circle beard. I was surprised but did like it and he still has it."

"Bearded for life! Or mustached for life like my hubby. He shaves it, we get divorced!"

Inspired by all the "I 💜 beards" messages, I picked up my first Penny Reid romance. She's well-known for her bearded heroes. Beauty and the Mustache features a heroine who has seven hillbilly brothers, all fully bearded. And the hero is a federal ranger who of course, also has a very fuzzy face. I'm at the place where they're just about to break up and can't wait til after dinner to get back to the story...

But to be clear—even though I prefer a man with a beard, even after mine shaved his and kept his face fresh for ten years, I still loved him!

And I have to admit that of my own books, the hero I love the most is Nick in First In. He's a firefighter and therefore must be clean-shaven all the time (though he has a lovely 5 o'clock shadow!).
