I hope the Year of the Tiger has infused a boost of confidence, bravery and strong-will into your last week.

Have you sent an email to the folks from the coloring book list-builder yet? I know a few folks either had, or were concerned about, high unsubscribe rates.

I was talking to a group of rom-com authors I meet with weekly from RAM2021 and one used to work in the silicone valley in an email marketing role. She was saying that in the broader-than-book-marketing world, when a company sends email to a cool list (like our list-builder generated), a 50% retention is considered a success.

I won't argue that a 10% unsubscribe rate on that "hello" email is disappointing, but it's nice to have that broader context so we don't take the rudenick's actions personally.

Romantic Fantasy list-builder

An author asked if I'd run a coloring book list-builder for romantic fantasy. Since I don't know her or her reach, I set up a form that is just collecting interest, no money unless I get 30 authors to play.

I have 9 so far.

I am hopeful that a coloring book targeted specifically to romantic fantasy readers will have a higher sign-up than the general coloring book we all participated in since the PNR coloring book is performing very well—1700 names and emails with a week left to go.

One day Twitter promo, anyone?

Is anyone interested in a one-day Tweet event on February 14 to give a boost to your coloring page and connected title?

Here's the idea:

You tweet the quote that you contributed to the print version of the coloring book, add the coloring page as the image, the hashtag #ColorfulRomance and a link to your unique webpage on https://www.romancecoloringchallenge.com/all-the-heroes/.

It would look something like this (except I used the main site landing page).

And we all retweet each other's quote and picture to build some buzz...

If you're interested, make a note on your calendar. We can all check in a couple of times of February 14th for the #ColorfulRomance hashtag and share the fun.

Last promises

I have not forgotten that I promised to send a bookmark template and get names uploaded to Goodreads. Those actions are still on my list to get done. I have a couple of writing deadlines to put behind me and then I'll get to those.
