Hello !

Have you watched the new Bridgerton mini-series, Queen Charlotte, yet?

I did something so out of character this morning. Instead of waking up and sitting down at my desk to work, I binged the first three episodes. šŸ˜

The best part? I watched it in a livestream with thirteen other romance authors. We had so much fun chatting and oohing and ahhing together at the amazing story-telling, acting and costumes.

I enjoyed watching the first two entire series with my darling husband, but there's something extra special about watching such a well-written love story with other people who eat and breathe romance.

I admit, I've not read any of Julia Quinn's Bridgerton books ... and as often as I prefer the book to a movie or series, I don't think the books can be better.

But I'm willing to be educated. If you have a different opinion, let me know.

Love series & free books?

This small town romantic comedy novella features a woman with a save-the-world complex, a man whoā€™s willing to give her everything she wants even if what she wants is to leave him, and a bunch of eccentric town inhabitants who wouldnā€™t know how to keep a secret if their lives depended on it.

My Forever Plan by D. E. Haggerty is a standalone novella and prequel to the Winter Falls romantic comedy series.

Love series & being the first to read a new one?

Now that I can confidently start promoting the first novel in my new series, since the cover has finally been chosenā€”it's the original that many friends thought was too weird to be the best choice (sometimes friends don't have the best advice!)ā€”it's time to start shouting from the rooftops that this billionaire rom-com will soon be ready.

You can read the first three chapters, including the meet cute šŸ˜, on this hidden page on my website.

Here's what the story's about:

Virginia Beach, at your service. Rich clients pay me a pretty peony to keep their houseplants as healthy as their bank accounts. Most treat me well. But Will Power? That man is as charming as an infestation of mealybugs. Guess what Mr. Grumpy Billionaireā€”I am no shrinking violet and I will not wither under your dazzling, sexy-as-an-orchid-in-bloom, scowl.

When Will Power brings his day-long, Come Into Power seminar to my city, I spring on the opportunity to absorb his billionaire tips to grow my shaky business.

I feel like Iā€™ve won the lottery when he picks me from the crowd to do on-stage coaching. Until he humiliates me. In front of a thousand people.

So when a coveted ticket for his elite Power Broker Program accidentally drops into my lap, do I return it? Darn right, I do! Right into the hand of Mr. Liu, my brand new executive coach.

I know that once the mistake is noticed, Iā€™ll be tossed out like an invasive weed. But until thenā€”I will act like my green business belongs in the room beside the next Forbes 500 entrepreneurs.

When Mr. All Powerful learns the truth, instead of tearing me limb from limb, he makes me an offer I canā€™t refuse: I can stay in the program if I work my charms on all the plants at Will Power & Bros., his family's empire.

The one thorn? He insists I deliver my plant pep talks while he watches.

Heā€™s arrogant. Heā€™s entitled. Heā€™s as gorgeous as a fiddle-leaf fig tree in bloomā€”and just as difficult to keep happy.

Still, itā€™s going to take every ounce of my willpower to keep from falling roots over sunflower for this grumpy billionaire.

****

If quirky, witty banter between a heroine whoā€™s superpower is talking to plants and a hero whoā€™s approach to conversation is barking motivational quotes sounds like your kind of couple, youā€™ll love meeting Virginia Beach and Will Power in this steamy, enemies to lovers, workplace, billionaire rom-com.

I'm not sure how I'll get my head back into my contemporary story with images of all the amazing dresses I've just been drooling over. Can you imagine having to put on all those layersā€”and change three times a day? When would there be time for anything else?

I hope you get to do something decadent and fun this weekend ... like take a morning or an afternoon to drop into a love story without feeling guilty!

love & corsetsstuff,

Danika
