Did you know that International Firefighter Appreciation Day is coming up on May 4th? Last year, on that day, I celebrated my deep appreciation for firefighters by publishing a book about two firefighters—Nick, a career fireman and Sophie, a volunteer firefighter—who fall in love.

One of the reasons I can write about the front lines is because I spent five years as a volunteer firefighter.

It's been a seriously eventless week here in Lily Valley... and my creative energy has been all used up editing the next book in The Mixed Six-Pack series. Writing a first draft is easy, just toss a hero and heroine into impossible situations and watch them figure out how to save themselves and each other.

But editing? Gah. It's like British Baking Show level cake decorating—and I am no kitchen witch. I'll be deep in the darkness of this editing cave for the next four weeks, so if you have an idea about a fun story topic I could tackle next week, let me know.
