🍨 Here's hoping for a snickerdoodle cobbler kind of year. (Thanks, Jeff Goldblum)

Happy new year, !

When I woke up this morning I had a dumb thought. That's not unusual; I often wake up with thoughts that are a weird mix of reality and whatever was happening in my last dream.

But this morning the thought was accompanied by music. It was a line from a kid's song—third verse, same as the first!

I have no idea what the rest of that song is, and I'm not going to go looking since I can just feel that it will be one of those awful ear worm songs that will haunt me for days. I shudder at the thought.

But I couldn't connect the song snippet to my last dream, which had Jeff Goldblum magically transporting me to a half-dozen restaurants in search of his favorite dessert—a snickerdoodle cobbler. Sadly, we never found it.

As I lay in bed, humming and repeating that line, it occurred to me that it was likely put in my mind by the two dozen emails I read yesterday wishing me a happy 2021 and that this new year is better than 2020 was.

And sure, I'll accept all those good wishes, but each time I read one, all I could think was that I really don't expect things to change that much in the year ahead. Thus the, third verse, same as the first... perhaps?

That said, I do want to have a snickerdoodle cobbler kind of year—even though I've never tasted a snickerdoodle, let alone the cobbler variety. And truth be told, I'm not sure I even know what a cobbler is, other than a person who fixes broken shoes... and that's the point, I guess.

Nothing feels different today, but every day brings an opportunity for something new, something good, something we've never experienced before. And whether you had a crappy 2020 or a good one, my wish for you is that it brings opportunities to try new things to bring you joy.

This novellete is getting rave reviews and has a 4.9 star rating. One reviewers said, "This reminded me of a sweet Hallmark movie and the Orlando setting was unique. I laughed out loud at the line, 'Maybe being a Grinch is my true calling.'”

Keep the holiday feeling going just a few days longer and grab this sweet, second-chance holiday romance, available on Kindle Unlimited.

I only recently started reading billionaire romance since one of my good friends is a huge fan and convinced me to give these rich bad boys a chance. Turns out, I can be swooned by a man in an expensive suit... throw in some laughs and I'm a happy reader.

This new direction for Lexi Calder looks like a winner. It's a full length, stand-alone, steamy romantic comedy with no cheating or cliffhangers. Grab it from Amazon and on KU.

The description of this fake fiancé story grabbed me right away since it sounds exactly like something that would happen to me. Heroine goes hiking, falls and knocks herself unconscious, only to be rescued by a local fireman. In her dazed state, she asks him to be her fake fiancé.

This 35,000 novella is free, free, free! I hope it's funny, funny, funny.

Last but not least, I always love a good enemies to lovers story. I've not read anything by Ava Greene and this short story is a prequel of The Privileged Series: An Enemies to Lovers Romance. It's about the ups and downs of the hero and heroine's separate lives before they started their hate/love journey.

This short story is 100% free. If you grab it, let me know if it drew you in to the lover's journey to HEA.

A final cheer for the next verse!

Woo hoo! You made it back from the journeys to the new reads. I hope you found something that's as tasty and fun as a snickerdoodle cobbler sounds like it would be.

And now that this greeting is done, I'm going to google exactly what that dessert is and if it's something I can actually make. One thing I'd like to become better at is making dessert. Maybe 2021 will be the year I remember as "The Sweet Year". Sounds good to me.

What sounds good to you? What way are you hoping, maybe even planning, to be able to look back on the ahead and describe it as?

love & sweetstuff,

Danika
