Hello lovely ,

I feel like I owe you several bouquets of flowers since I've not been delivering them with as much regularity this summer. Like I tell my mother, who I also fail to send flowers to (or call) often enough—it's not that I'm not thinking about you, I am... but my thoughts and actions these days have not been playing nice!

Rhodes to Love—Pre-order today! 🥳

I am so excited that the fourth book in The Mixed Six-Pack series is finally available on pre-order! This story kicked my butt!

I've put it on sale for you for just $0.99. Once it's goes live on September 9th, it will be $3.99.

Find out what happens to the eldest Rhodes brother retired stunt snowboarder Adam, and Lizzy, who you met in Second Breath as Kama's bff, in Rhodes to Love. Read the full blurb on Amazon!

More pre-order deals!

Pre-ordering books is a wonderful way to find new-to-you-authors at discounted prices since most have their new titles on sale for just $0.99.

Here are all the books that I pre-ordered from this pre-order promo, since I've either read and loved these authors or have heard good things about their books from friends. Let me know which of these titles you buy so we compare reading notes! And all of these are only $0.99 — at least until they publish (which is dates as soon as next week to December)!

And yes, my own book is on that spread because I needed visual balance in the collage! Even though it was published last week (so you can download and read it today) I'm keeping it at the special pre-order price until the rest of the books in the series are available! 😛

How did you come up with that title?

Last week a reader asked how I came up with the title for Mind Over Splatter—if I thought of the title first and then wrote the book or the other way around. And there is a story here.

The original title of this book was actually something different. Because it's part of a collection of twelve stories that all take place on an imaginary college campus, all of the covers were being designed by one person so they'd all match. And the titles had to be three words.

This was what my blurb and the original cover looked like together:

Hmmm... I showed it to a group of friends and they all stumbled on the middle word in the handwritten font. Well! That's not going to work as a title if people can't read it, I thought. (It's An Artsy Experiment, in case you're struggling, too!)

So I went back to those friends and asked for help figuring out a new title. It was author Ivy Hunt who thought I should call the book Mind Over Splatter. And it's brilliant! A much more compelling title than I'd thought of, even though I had the words right there in my blurb... but, yes, I still grumble when Mr. Bloom asks me to help find the milk that's in the fridge right in front of him!

Hope you're keeping safe with crazy weather and new social gathering rules.

PS—Since I've been such a bad communicator over the last two months, my recent messages have been landing in people's promo-prison tabs—or not being delivered at all. Boo. 😩

I've got fun things planned for you this fall—more stories about love&stuff, and new books that I don't want you to miss. So, if you'd please...

hit Reply and write back with one word. How about "love&stuff"?

Or tell me your favorite romance trope... single dad? Friends to lovers? Fake relationship?

Or how about the name of the book you're reading right now? (I'm binging all of Anika Martin's Billionaire's of Manhattan series).

Basically, I'd love a super quick reply. Something to let the bothersome bots know that my emails are more valuable than questionable deals on home insurance.
