Quick confession ,
I'm not a big fan of phone calls... Yes. I actually enjoy talking and I do it for a living, but I don't particularly enjoy phone conversations - especially over Nigerian networks. If you live in Nigeria, you may realize that at least 30% of your phone calls have some kind of distortion, time delay, network glitch, drop, abrupt ending or some other technical glitch. You may end up talking for less than 5 minutes on a 10-minute call. The other 5 minutes may have you asking "Can you hear me?" several times or mouthing certain lamentations about the poor service.
Can you relate? I prefer voicenotes, for reasons I may share in another mail or social media post. That said, though I don't like phone calls, there are some calls I pick up - even when the factors are not favourable. I bet you have those calls too.
It could be your spouse, parent, child or some vulnerable person for whom you serve as primary caregiver.
What's my point? For me to send you a mail at this time, it must be quite important.
