🌱 All the possibilities are in front of you this May

Apr 25, 2024 1:01 pm

Hi ,

"The world's favorite season is the spring. All things seem possible in May." - Edwin Way Teale"

Spring has sprung. The days are getting longer and the weather is slowly warming. And anyone with seasonal allergies is very aware that everything green is popping back to life. It’s a reminder for us as writers that even when things feel dark, there is a cycle. A manuscript that may feel like it has hit a dead end can spring back to life with a new idea or perspective. Your creativity may fall dormant for a period of time, but trust in yourself and your muse will bloom again. Remember- all things are possible.

If you need some help to get your muse feeling lively, we’ve got some events to get you started.

 Workshop Wednesdays/Events at 10am PST:

  • May 01 – Romantic Relationships with Eileen
  • May 08 – Mailing Lists for beginners with Stephanie (content)
  • May 15 – Author Services guest panel hosted by Eileen
  • May 22 – Mailing Lists for beginners with Stephanie (technical)

Be sure to check out our regular events too:

Have You Seen? (Things we’re talking about)

If writing (or more likely publishing) is getting you down, you might want to check out the book Solve For Happy by Mo Gawdat. He’s an engineer that has come up with the equation that can lead you to happiness. Check it out here: https://www.amazon.com/Solve-Happy-Engineer-Your-Path-ebook/dp/B01H0IOZQ4/

Eileen was raving to the mystery group about the Netflix show, Ripley. She was hooked from episode one and liked it better than the movie with Jude Law and Matt Damon. How do you feel about adaptions?

Stephanie googled "What is May known for", and found a list that had a holiday for everyday in May. Still not sure if the list is made up, but she couldn't help but zero in on May 2. According to the list, May 2 is "World Password Day." Take this as your friendly reminder to change those old passwords! Especially the ones that include the name of the product or software you are using or if your password is the same for everything - ahem you know who you are. News You Can Use:

We all love a redemption story, but how do you show your own character has made some big changes? The Reedsy blog had an article on The Redemption Arc you may enjoy. https://blog.reedsy.com/redemption-arc/
