Nothing changes if nothing changes š

Hi ,
āItās not about standing still and becoming safe. If anybody wants to keep creating, they have to be about change.ā ā Miles Davis
Change is tricky. Some people are great at navigating it and others tend to hang on to what they know and go into any new situations kicking and screaming. Weāre no different even though we understand that change is inevitable and a part of the process of growing. There are some changes coming at The Creative Academy and weāre excited and nervous all at the same time. We want to keep you in loop so first we have a message from Crystal.

Some of you may have noticed Iāve been a littleā¦ distracted lately. Partly thatās been due to adventures in real lifeāhealth stuff, sky-water intruding on my living spaces, and the slow and steady development of this nextā¦ wellā¦ iteration of myself.
You may also know that Iāve always had kind of a split focus and have juggled my Health Psychologist and social scientist side, and my writing and authoring and publishing side.
Iāve finally found a path to really merge the two things together in a multi-media way and have recognized that this is exactly the right moment in my life to really go all in and try to get what I see in my mind out there into the real world where it can be sharedāinstead of hoarding it all to myself like Gollum with his preciouuusssss.
As we creatives are all too aware: brain space, time and energy are all finite resources. And this challenging, cerebral, wonderful work we do of making new realities out of nothingness? Sometimes it requires periods of intense focus and concentration to really do it right.
Which means I need to make a few changes in my life.

The Creative Academy for Writers is going to continue being the most awesome place to hang out with the best writerly people. Your happy place is safe in many very loving and ultra-capable hands with Eileen and Stephanie.
To be clear:
Iām not leaving the community.
Iām not leaving writing.
Iām not leaving you.
You can bet your last bookmark that Iāll be cheering you on just the same way I always have from the sidelines, and I want to celebrate every bit of your successes and commiserate with the challenges of making cool stuff right alongside you.
But what I am doing is taking a step back from my leadership and administrative role. Itās going to take a great deal of my time, energy and focus to get all of the ideas swirling around in my mind out of my head and into the world with the level of quality I think this project, myselfāand any of you who choose to play alongādeserve. This means I will likely be checking the forums less often because Iāll be busy with other things. There will be video. There will be a podcast. There will be art. There will be articles, and books, and emailsā¦
And my friendsā¦ I am SO FREAKING EXCITED about this next step.
Many of you have already checked out my new website at GoThinkabout.com, and maybe even subscribed to the weekly emails already. If you havenātā¦ then click here and join me as I embark on the next exciting chapter of What does Crystal do next with her one wild and precious life?
Knowing you are out there is what makes me brave.
I couldnāt do it without you.
