🌸 A Fresh Season. A Fresh Start for Your Writing.
Feb 26, 2026 2:01 pm
Hi ,
“March is a tomboy with tousled hair, a mischievous smile, mud on her shoes and a laugh in her voice.” ― Hal Borland
March is when those hints of spring start arriving. The days get longer, the weather a bit warmer, and the plants slowly emerge. The change in season always gives us a bit of a jump start. It serves as a reminder that even if you’ve had periods where it feels your muse has disappeared, it’s quite possible that she’s merely been hibernating and that she’s getting ready to bloom!
This time of year gardeners begin the process of cleaning the beds and perhaps doing some spring pruning. They get excited about what they would like to grow in the coming year. We encourage you to do the same. Consider doing some clean up of your writing space, prune the activities that are taking your energy (doom scrolling perhaps?), and remind yourself what you want to accomplish this year.
If you need some help to plan your creativity, we’ve got you covered this month.
Workshop Wednesdays
March 4: The Unreliable Narrator with Eileen
The unreliable narrator is popular in fiction. What makes them unreliable? How do you write this type of character well and are there things you should avoid? Come and discuss this popular character choice and if it may work for your manuscript.
March 11: Deep Dive with Jenny
Want to chat more about unreliable narrators and discuss your manuscript or books you’ve read? Here’s your chance.
March 18: Blue Pencil with Jenny
Here’s your chance to have up to 750 words of your manuscript, query letter or synopsis reviewed by your peers.
March 25: Mind Mapping with Jacqui
Brainstorming is always a good way to gather new ideas, but doing it with the hive mind gives you even more. Here’s your chance to mind-map anything from plot, to characters, to new marketing ideas!
