🕛 Waste some time this June

Happy June ,
"Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time." – Marthe Troly-Curtin
Summer is around the corner, and although each day still only has 24 hours, they feel longer. What will you do with your time this summer? You know we hope you have a chance to get those words in and make progress on your projects, but we also hope you make some time for recharging your creative batteries. Sit outside and daydream, take long walks, read in a patch of sunshine, nap, watch some great TV and have long discussions into the wee hours with a good friend. This recharge is as important to your success as productivity. And if you don’t enjoy the journey- what’s the point of the trip?
If you need some ideas of how to spend your time this month we have ideas.

Have You Seen? (Things we’re talking about)
The third season of Bridgerton is out. We are coming out officially in support of a return to men in flouncy shirts and waistcoats! Have you read the books by Julia Quinn that the books are based on? The first book originally came out in 2000 and has been reinvented under the genius of Shonda Rhimes. How do you feel about the change in storyline? We love how a story can be expanded and explored in new and exciting ways.
FYI: If you haven’t read the book The Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes we encourage you to check it out. Not only is she an amazing creative person (Grey’s Anatomy anyone?) we can learn from, but she also role models the importance of taking risks.
News You Can Use:
Have you ever thought about doing a writing residency? A chance to get away from it all and focus on your writing? There are some that have fees and others that are free for those accepted. Poet and Writer’s created a list of these. https://www.pw.org/conferences_and_residencies
And if you are wondering about writing conferences check out this past session with Stephanie on the Surrey International Writers' Conference: https://creative-academy-for-writers.mn.co/posts/your-author-business-surrey-international-writers-conference-writing-contest-and-other-opportunities-with-stephanie-workshop-wednesday-2023_06_14 or check out the website at https://www.siwc.ca/.
We’ll be having some announcements next month as we plan for the fall and the year ahead so stay tuned!
