You know you can watch what your competitors do, but did you know that you can get new marketing ideas by looking at comparable markets? It's way more fun than constantly watching your competition. Here's how to do it:

• Think of a totally unrelated business to yours that serves the exact same ideal customer and that offers products or services that are in the same price range as what you offer.
• Check out that business's social marketing, website copy, and emails (you can probably subscribe to their list for free). Notice the words they use, how they market, what social media channels they use, the images they use. Make a short list of new ideas you get from looking at this comparable marketing.
• Put some of the ideas in action and see the results you get!

My challenge to you today is to think of ONE comparable business and go take a look at how they market and advertise.
