A quick thank you

Hey everyone!
As 2025 comes to a close, I want to say thank you.
Building Compete Health pushed me outside my comfort zone, and so many of you supported me by testing features, joining early challenges, and sharing honest feedback. I’m incredibly grateful.
Before Ryan Seacrest floods our TVs tomorrow night, I wanted to share why I built Compete Health and what’s coming in 2026.
Sam you have a job. Why do you spend your free time on Compete Health?
Growing up with my two brothers (shoutout Scott and Mark), everything was a competition. Driveway basketball. Basement nerf wars. You name it.
We were always moving, mostly laughing, and always competing.
Don't let our childhood smiles fool you.
As life went on, that competitive drive never disappeared, rather the natural ways to channel it did.
That changed in 2020, when a friend (shoutout William) challenged a group of us to work out 200 times in a year.
What started as a fun experiment completely changed my relationship with health. It wasn’t about winning. It was about showing up.
The accountability and friendly competition helped me build habits without even realizing it.
That’s when it clicked: most people don’t need more health advice. They need motivation, accountability, and a little fun.
And that is why I built Compete Health.
What’s ahead in 2026
I'm focusing on wellness challenges for small businesses and teams.
Thanks to your feedback, businesses can now sponsor the entire prize pot, allowing employees to join challenges for free using a password.
I’m reaching out to local small businesses to run 4-week step challenges where the company sponsors the prizes and employees simply participate.
My goal: 100 small business wellness challenges this year.
If you’re interested — or know a business or team that might be — I’d love to chat. Just reply or shoot me a text 😊
I’ll also continue hosting 1-2 app-wide step challenges each month (2 weeks, $5 entry, tiered by fitness level) that anyone can join.
Quick app updates we’re working through:
- The latest Android update is still stuck in Google Play’s automated review
- WHOOP devices aren’t supported yet (they don’t sync frequently enough with Apple Health / Health Connect)
Thanks again for all the support — it truly means a lot.
Best,
Sam
