These are a few of the books that I loved πŸ“š

And I'd love to hear your list.

Reading is my happy place.

And book recommendations are like a high-speed train to that destination, so I really appreciate them.

Maybe you feel the same way?

In that spirit, here's a (non-exhaustive) list of fantasy romance books I read in the last year that made a big impression, in alphabetical order:

The Blood Grace series. Why? Fated mates + star-crossed lovers + an epic-fantasy twist on vampires is a winning combination. He's a diplomat, she's the daughter of a tyrant, and their love will stretch across continents.

Court of Tricksters. Why? It is a truth universally acknowledged that any woman would jump at the chance to marry the fae Duke of Knight ... except the woman he must wed to avert a war. (Featuring the bestest demon cat ever.)

The Fae Isles series. Why? Intrigue and enemies to lovers and sign language for two and a cool color-based magic system. When a secret magic-user is carried off by a fae executioner, they both end up with more than they'd bargained for.

How to Bite Your Neighbor & Win a Wager. Why? A thought-provoking take on vampires in a modern setting with high-quality pining and a mystery involving a shadowy corporation. Yes, thanks.

How to Train Your Goblin King. Why? Humorous romance inspired by the Labyrinth movie. SOLD. (Seriously, what more do you need? Oh, also the goblin king is fighting injustice. ~swoon~)

Magpies & Mayhem. Why? Chaotic magpie shifter and vampire who was her childhood crush have to save a baby dragon. You will never look at sticks the same way again.

The Monsters We Defy. Why? A daring magical heist in segregated 1925 Washington, D.C. The twining of real history and fantasy is *chef's kiss*. I was so excited to find out that ... nope, can't spoil it, you'll just have to read it.

Snowspelled. I can't quite remember when I read it, but never mind, it's lovely and I want to tell you about it. Ladies in Angland focus on politics, not magic. Except for one rulebreaker.

The Stariel series. Why? Downton Abbey + fae + sentient land = brilliant. Re-read recently, and it was every bit as delightful as the first time around.
