Monday, April 21st at 10:00 am

Monday mornings are play time for ages 18 months - 3 years in the story time room. Join other families to socialize, work on early literacy skills through play, and meet new friends.

Monday, April 21st at 3:30 pm

At The Library After School (ATLAS) is an after-school program for 1st - 5th graders consisting of read-aloud stories, exploring the library, crafts, movies, STEM, and activities. The program will run weekly on Mondays from 3:30-5:00pm starting September 9. Registration required.

Monday, April 21st at 6:00 pm

Bring a pencil and some paper (or grab your laptop) and join a community of writers. Use the time to work on a project or join in on the prompts and games provided. The group meets from 6:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday nights whenever the library is open.



Tuesday, April 22nd

Tuesday, April 22nd from 2:00 - 4:00 pm

Cerro Gordo County Public Health will sponsor a 2-part seminar on Advanced Directives at the Clear Lake Public Library. 


In the first session, an attorney will guide you through step-by-step information on topics such as Medical Power of Attorney, Living Will, DNR, Power of Attorney, and he will talk about the importance of planning ahead. There will also be an experienced care consultant to talk about having this difficult discussion with your family. CG Public Health will provide all the forms you’ll need. 


The first session will be held on Tuesday, April 22 from 2-4 pm. A second seminar will be held on Tuesday, May 13 from 2-4 pm to answer any further questions. A notary will be available to ensure your wishes are recognized and legally binding.



Wednesday, April 23rd

Wednesday, April 23rd at 10:30 am

Story time for children ages 3-5 and their families is held at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday, year-round. Story time consists of stories, body movement activities, songs, and rhymes, helping children grow the skills they need to become lifelong readers. Young children and their grown-ups are invited to join us for these free weekly events!

Wednesday, April 23rd from 2:00 - 4:00 pm

On the 4th Wednesday of every month, all ages are invited to join us in the meeting room for a few hours of building fun from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Come and go program. No registration required.

Wednesday, April 23rd at 5:30 pm

Join Joel Schwichtenberg, CLEAR Project coordinator, for a panel discussion covering topics important to Clear Lake. The panel consists of Scott Grummer (Fisheries Management Biologist), Joel Born (Aquatic Invasive Species Specialist), Jason Euchner (Aquatic Vegetation Management Biologist), and Kim Bogenschutz (Aquatic Invasive Species Program Coordinator) discussing topics such as ways to handle Curly Leaf Pondweed, Zebra Mussles research in the lake, Eurastian Watermilfoil [EWM] impact to North Iowa, and the 2025 EWM Management Plan for Clear Lake.

Cards & Creativity meets every Thursday that the library is open at 1:00 p.m. This is a weekly opportunity to meet up with others to play games or engage in your creative outlet of choice. You can work on fiber art, writing, music, drawing, or anything else that inspires you! We'll provide coloring supplies and cards for you to use

Thursday, April 24th from 4:00 - 6:00 pm

Find the Library represented at the North Iowa Green Expo & Farmers Market! Bring your ID to sign up for a free library account, check out our selection of non-traditional items available to borrow, and try your hand at a Native/Non-Native prairie game.  



Friday, April 25th

Friday, April 25th at 10:30 am

Join us on Friday mornings at 10:30 a.m. for a fun, one-on-one program with bouncing rhymes, books, music, and group play just for our youngest patrons. This program is designed for ages birth to 18 months with a parent or caregiver. Older siblings may accompany.

OutdoorFest is a family-friendly event held in City Park as part of Clear Lake Earth Day celebrations. This event offers a variety of fun activities and educational opportunities aimed at promoting outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship. Visitors can enjoy the National Eagle Center program, North Iowa Children’s Museum activities, bounce houses, and games for all ages. There will be plenty of food and drinks available, making it a perfect opportunity to spend a day outdoors with family and friends while learning about sustainability and enjoying the beauty of Clear Lake.

Saturday, April 26th from 1:00 - 5:00

Want to work on some new puzzles without breaking the bank or causing your current collection to overflow? Bring your puzzles throughout the week (April 21 - 25) for tickets to the big puzzle swap event on April 26th. Each puzzle brought in earns you a ticket, and each ticket you bring in on the 26th earns you a puzzle to take home!
