Look out! A dinosaur is loose in the library, and he has razor-sharp claws, bone-crushing jaws, and…feathers??? Come and see for yourself!

Join Iowa author Kelly Crull for a silly, surprising STEM storytime adventure based on his new book, The Chick-o-saurus, from National Geographic Kids.

This one-of-a-kind program features:

An energetic read-aloud packed with science, silliness, and surprises

A guest appearance from the Chick-o-saurus himself

Tons of dinosaur facts

A hands-on fossil digging station

A hatch-your-own dinosaur egg activity

And giveaways

Perfect for ages 4–10 and their families, this program blends storytime, science, and plenty of giggles into one unforgettable experience that will get kids excited about books, thinking like a scientist, and leave everyone roaring with delight.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Join us each Wednesday, Memorial Day - Labor Day at 10:30 a.m. for a family story time for ages 0-5. Story time consists of stories, body movement activities, songs, and rhymes, helping children grow the skills they need to become lifelong readers. After the stories, feel free to stay and play and make new friends! Young children and their grown-ups are invited to join us for these free weekly events.

After Labor Day, story time is split into designated age groups throughout the week. Look for that information in August.

The Clear Lake Public Library and Healthy Harvest are partnering for a summer intro to hydroponics program held in the Clear Lake Public Library meeting rooms. This is a weekly class throughout the summer geared toward students entering grades 6, 7 & 8. Students will go through the process of caring for and growing plants in a hydroponic tower garden and even learn some recipes to go with the plants they grow. Space is limited, so registration is required.
