Join us for popcorn and a movie as we enjoy a family movie.
Hiccup is a Viking teenager who aspires to hunt dragons, but doesn't exactly fit in with his tribe's longstanding tradition of heroic dragon slayers. His world gets turned upside down when he encounters a dragon that challenges him and his fellow Vikings to see the world from an entirely different point of view. Run time: 98 minutes.

Distant Sons by Tim Johnston: What if Sean Courtland’s old Chevy truck had broken down somewhere else? What if he’d never met Denise Givens, a waitress at a local tavern in the Wisconsin town where he lands? Or Dan Young, another young man like Sean drifting through, having fled Minnesota for reasons unknown? Instead, together Sean and Dan pick up carpentry and plumbing work for an old man named Marion Devereaux, and Sean gets drawn into the lives of Denise and her father—and of the townspeople, all haunted by the disappearance of three young boys decades ago, in the 1970s.

Watch as inventor & time traveler Brock Barnabas visits the present time to recruit some adventurous kids to travel back to the Medieval times. They train to help deal with an overpopulation of dragons! Kids are trained to both defend against and tame down dragons using Brock's amazing science-based inventions and techniques.
Upon completion of the audience's training, Brock Barnabas prepares to transport the kids to the past - but inadvertently draws a dragon right to your event! Kids get to use their newly learned skills to deal with the dragon in the room!

Welcome summer!
It’s time to preserve things. Strawberries and memories.
Memories?
Yes, memories.
The Clear Lake Public Library is hosting an afternoon of preserving your memories on July 17th from 1-5.
Come to the History Room that Thursday afternoon from 1-5 and we’ll help you digitize your photos and stories on our equipment. Free!
We’d love to add to our collection ( if you agree) and make your memories more secure by digitally saving them.
You keep your originals and we email you your new digital copies.
This is a drop in event, but feel free to call ahead if you’ve got a large project or the time doesn’t work for you. Ask for Cindy. My friend Bruce will be here helping that day too so we can serve you effectively.
We’ll be here on the 17th ready to help digitize your contributions. Free!

Meet the Storytellers:
Nicholas Pawlowski: Nicholas Pawlowski M. Ed. is an interactive storyteller and educator who founded The Story Table Foundation as a place where children can experience interactive and embodied storytelling! Through his extensive work in education and inter-cultural relations, Nicholas learned how mental and emotional wellbeing is improved by connecting with others through the arts.
Sue Searing: Sue Searing tells traditional folk and fairy tales as well as original stories drawn from her own experiences. Whether she’s entertaining children on a Saturday morning or competing in a story slam at a downtown bar, Sue infuses her performances with warmth, expressiveness, and humor. In addition to engaging audiences in person, Sue enjoys performing live online and she often records stories for broadcast on the radio.
Coral Conant Gilles: As a storytelling naturalist, Coral combines her passions for storytelling and nature in her work. She tells folklore, original tales, and personal stories. Her stories build connections with the natural world and between communities. Her hands-on nature activities facilitate exploration and foster curiosity. Adults, early learners, teens, and seniors all find joy in discovering the world around them in new ways.
Meet the Authors:
Staci Andrea, Luke Bell, Karen Carr, Thomas W. Case, David E. Coe, Marie Wells Coutu, I. R. Miller, Barb Mills, and Diane Quail
