My Best Friend Needs A Man!

Happy Friday—or Saturday to those on the eastern side of the world—to C.L. Carhart's reader friends! I'm so excited for the chance to connect with you today, I can hardly contain myself. This is kind of like giving a speech without actually talking. The only thing that could make this better is if we could meet in person!
I'm Bianca Langguth, official best friend and matchmaker for Gabi Scholz, who somehow positioned herself as the star of C.L. Carhart's latest paranormal romance novel! Since it's a romance novel—and since Gabi is the star—I'm 100% convinced she's destined to find the man of her dreams at long last. 💕
Truth to be told, I think Gabi would make a great Leitalra, or Teutonic matriarch. Have you seen what she can do with her fire? She uses it to heat her entire home! 🔥 Isn't that amazing? The only way I could defeat her in an elemental duel would be if I stole her oxygen away. As a Teuton witch of whirlwind, I haven't quite managed to hone that talent yet. I'm better at kicking up a breeze than separating the teeny tiny components of air.
Even though I'm personally rooting for Gabi to become Leitalra so she can mate with the city's Keyholder, fate seems to be moving against me there. So it's time for Plan B. Gabi and I need to attend the Taubenball—the most exquisite dating event in our local magical community.
Masquerade Ball
The Taubenball happens every five years on the first Friday in April. As magical dating events go, I recommend it 100%. After all, I met my darling husband, Oliver, at the ball ten years ago! I couldn't have asked for a kinder husband. He's supported me throughout our struggle with infertility and helped me hold my head up high even when other witches put me down.
The masquerade takes place at a medieval castle on the outskirts of Nürnberg, a city just a quick hop south of here. I can hardly wait to dress up and enjoy the food, drinks, and dances, along with the luxurious castle gardens! I've been longing to explore those with Gabi for ages, because she's never gone to a Taubenball yet. This year, we can finally experience it together!
Unfortunately, Oliver won't be able to come with us, since his job is sending him to Berlin that week. But that means I can concentrate all of my efforts on finding Gabi her perfect partner, so she never has to think about her nasty ex again!
