Unlimited Adventures In Kobo Plus 💃

Did it frustrate you when Kindle Unlimited raised their subscription price?
Do you ever wish you could download more than 20 eBooks at a time?
Do you wish you didn't have to pay a whole lot more to enjoy audiobooks?
Have you figured you'll never get the chance to read the entire catalog of indie authors whose books aren't available in KU? I mean, who's got enough spare change to buy 50+ eBooks all at once?
Rejoice, for your binge reading options are expanding! 🎉
Kobo Plus = eBooks & Audio
I've mentioned the Kobo Plus subscription program a few times already, but let's dig down to the roots today. Kobo is a company that sells e-readers similar to Kindle and Nook. Kobo also has an e-reading app that you can add to your Kindle Fire, your smartphone, your iPad, or your tablet. Just check out the Apple app store or Android/Google Play app store and search for Kobo.
Kobo runs a subscription program for eBooks and audio that's very similar to Kindle Unlimited. The Kobo Plus program has been available in many countries for several years, and it recently expanded into the U.S. and U.K. markets.
If you live in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, the U.S., or the U.K., the Kobo Plus program is here for you!
Now, if you've been using Kindle Unlimited for years, I totally understand the hesitation to embark into "the unknown." 👀 Here are a couple reasons I think you ought to consider taking the plunge.
- Kobo Plus is cheaper monthly subscription than Kindle Unlimited. Right now you can get both eBooks AND audiobooks for only $9.99 per month if you live in the U.S. That's a lot more affordable than KU & an Audible membership!
- Kobo Plus is more affordable than KU & Audible in other countries too. Check out country-specific pricing on Kobo's website.
- The number of eBooks you can download with a Kobo Plus subscription is truly "unlimited." Unlike KU, which limits you to 20 books at a time, Kobo Plus lets you add as many books as you want to your library. One of my fellow indie authors has 56 titles downloaded right now on Kobo Plus!
- Many indie authors whose eBooks aren't available in KU have their eBooks available in Kobo Plus. Giant boxed sets are a common find, too.
- Now from the author standpoint: Kobo Plus rocks because it doesn't require exclusivity like Kindle Unlimited. Did you know that if an indie author makes their eBooks available in KU, they're legally forbidden to publish those eBooks—or give them away—anywhere else??? 😱 To me, that seems incredibly restrictive, especially since it hamstrings authors from giving their books away for free. Now readers & authors have a great alternative available with Kobo. 💖
If Kobo Plus isn't available in your country yet, feel free to send them a short message on their help page letting them know you're waiting to binge! Kobo Plus is always expanding, so maybe they'll come to your country next.
YOLO with Kobo
I realize all that information might seem overwhelming, and you might not know where to start with a Kobo Plus subscription. Lucky for you, a bunch of indie authors who write romance and romantic stories have teamed up with Kobo to present the YOLO with Kobo event.
This will be a quarterly event showcasing romance eBooks and audiobooks available in Kobo Plus for you to browse, download, and enjoy. Unlike the usual freebie events, the titles involved will be free to download on Kobo Plus, or you can buy them from the Kobo store.
Check out the wide variety of titles right now at Kobo Plus Romance Binge:

Or scroll Kobo's event page and start filling up your app!

Gift of Fire and Gift of Darkness are hanging out in the YOLO with Kobo event right now, so if you haven't checked out Gabi & Lukas' romance yet—or Amira's compelling journey into Teutonic magic with Doro—now's the time to do it!
If you subscribe to Kobo Plus, you can binge read my entire back catalog aside from a couple novellas. You can also binge great titles by indie authors like Margo Bond Collins, Laura Greenwood, Erin Wright, and Demelza Carlton.
Happy browsing, happy bingeing, and remember, YOLO with Kobo!
(Now I'd better get back to writing. 😉)
Talk to you soon,
