Nature's Been Out To Get Us Lately 🌀🔥

You might remember the destruction of Hurricane Helene when it parked itself over western North Carolina, eastern Tennessee, and my home state of South Carolina (to a lesser extent) back in September of last year.
Well apparently that hurricane left a bunch of downfall ripe for burning in its wake. 😔 We've had unusually low humidity here lately, so now our beloved mountain forests are burning. We can't seem to catch a break!
My husband and I live in the city, so the fires aren't a threat to our home. But if you've got thoughts, prayers, or positive vibes to spare, please send them along to all the people still reeling from a hurricane and now battling wildfires. Life ain't easy in this insane world we inhabit.
That's why we've got stories stuffed with magic, romance, and adventure to give us a break from reality.
The Writing Progresses ✍️
Still faithfully working on Claimed by the Undead, which is shaping up quite nicely. Just finished a chapter a couple hours ago, and Helena's finally gotten the courage to ask Konstantin whether he's used mysterious magic to hypnotize her and alter her memories. 😬
That sort of magic isn't common knowledge among Teutons, but when you happen to be involved with a Black Priest, well...let's just say Helena poses a valid question. And soon we'll find out how Konstantin decides to respond!
As usual I've been collecting a variety of artworks I've come across on social media that remind me of Helena—and sometimes Konstantin, though it's rare to find artwork of a dude with long-ish, wavy brown hair. I think most artists and photographers prefer long-haired dudes with black hair. 😅
Here's one from Facebook that reminds me of how we might find Helena in summertime: collecting flowers to share with her father and sisters. I'd love to explore nature with her! How about you?
