Hello from the baby and me!
Funny story: because it's summer, and I have a brand new baby, I spend a lot of my writing time on the front porch. I dictate the story while I feed the baby and watch the older kids. My two year old still likes to sit by me most of the time because he hasn't got too cool for mama yet. (Thank goodness.) He's also big into copying EVERYTHING I say.
Good and bad. It's a lot of pressure. Lol! (I called my dog a "knucklehead" the other day and now it's his new favorite word. 🤦♀️ P.S. the dog deserved the title after bullying the other dogs away from the food. )
Since I've been dictating lately, he's been copying parts of the story. But when you dictate, you speak the punctuation. For example I say comma=, period=. open quote=" close quote=" and so on and so forth.
Unfortunately, my two year old is now speaking his punctuation as well. He's adding "close quote" to a lot of what he says.
Whoops. I guess there is a downside to doing everything with your kids. I'm going to have to explain that you don't ACTUALLY have to speak punctuation. 🤪
Want to see something fun?????
Here is the final title and book cover in A Love Like This series! Are you excited??? I know I am! I'm having a blast writing this story! 😍
What are you all reading right now? I'm reading a couple different non fiction books right now. (I don't read romcoms while I'm writing a romcom :) ) One of them is Atomic Habits which is what I need in my life right now. 🤪
Do you lean towards a specific genre in the summertime? I'd love to hear what you're reading!
Lots of love and awkward hugs,
Carina Taylor
