Bio:

Lady Orlena, mentioned in Shadow of the Sword, was born in the Eastern Mountains of Kelkor, along the border between Kelkor and Shadow Dale. Her home was war ravaged from the first days of her life. From her earliest memories, she was trained to defend herself. And, as the youngest daughter of a military commander for an Earl, she would pursue a career in weaponry and combat.

Therefore, after a near fatal attack on the stronghold her family defended, Orlena's older brother brought her as a page to begin her training in Kelvane--the capitol of Kelkor.

Shortly after being left to train in the court of the King and Queen, Orlena received word that another raid had breeched the stronghold where her family lived. No one survived.

This, along with her earlier years of training, fueled Orlena to new levels of determination. In part from her father's prior tutoring, as well as her powerful build, she was soon able to best most squires her age, as well as impress knights with her tactical mind. She offered powerful insight, unconsidered strategies, and a sense of authority that made it easy for her to climb the ranks after being knighted, despite a notably short temper and undisguised want of vengeance.

Thus, when Princess Paranella had reached the age to pick her next husband, Orlena was exceptionally vocal in council meetings that her marriage should be one that strengthens the military force. She encouraged the crown to move past the modern aspect of letting the Princess pick between the suitors they invited and, instead, align themselves with a Kingdom that might aid in defeating Shadow Dale's armies. These pleads were quickly dismissed, only driving her to consider more desperate actions....

Wait ... does this bio seem unfinished?

Sorry, dear reader, that would be because I would hate to spoil too much of what we will see in the first book of the Ranger's series...

Make sure to watch for future character bios and snippets to piece together what comes next in the World of Alamore!
