Why you should start a business.
Mar 01, 2022 1:49 pm
What is the top reason I believe everyone should own or manage some kind of business?
Not because you can make your own money.
Not because it would give you power.
Not because it would be more fun than your current job.
Because it is a safety net for you when shit hits the fan in life.
While many people view salary & benefits as the safety net... I challenge those people to realize who is in control of the salary & benefits. Not them.
Your job can let you go at any given time for any given reason.
IDK about you, but that shit does not seem "safe" at all to me.
Let me be clear with this message.
I am NOT saying jobs aren't "safe" at all, or that you should't have one.
All I want to do is make you aware that you cannot depend on this job to be there when times get tough.
YOU MUST DEPEND ON YOURSELF!
And that is where having an understanding of how to create, build, and manage a business, even if it is super small (couple hundred bucks a month), can literally be your savior in times of need.
What are some other reasons I believe you should start one?
- Acquire and Master New Skills
- Become A Better Problem Solver
- Earn Yourself More Freedom
- Make Money Doing What You Love
I go more in depth on the above in my most recent ThriveOnLife Podcast Episode. If you'd like to watch & listen to it, CLICK HERE.

p.s. I am grateful for sports and athletics because they led me into my first business. And that path changed my life for the better.
