Your presence today, determine's your success of tomorrow.

This is email 199. Somehow I am already about to hit 200 emails written...and I can still remember the first.
If you have been here the whole time, thank you! Your support means more than you will ever know.
I haven't written in 3+ days. That is the longest I have gone since email 1! Yet, it was for good reason.
I was determined to be as focused on myself, my wife, and my friends over the weekend while competing in the US Championships.
There is no getting around it..I like to smash goals, I like to live life, I like to get the fuck after it and constantly be on the move. <---- This comes with a cost though, and that cost caught up to me over the years.
So I forced myself to slow down.
And when I did, when I was able to reflect, I realized that all the good that happened in my life...typically game when I was dialed in and focused on the present moment.
Because thinking about tomorrow, or next week, or next year... and planning all my next moves.... had a negative impact on what my very next move was. It hindered my ability to MOVE TODAY the way I wanted to.
(by "move" I mean life, not physical movements)
So as I do most times, I made up a quote to remind myself when I feel like I am getting off track.
If I want the success that I have defined for myself "tomorrow" ... I must focus on being present today because that is what will bring that success.
To end this, I want to ask you about where you can be more present in your life? Where have you been showing up "half-assed," rather than with your full intent, full spirit, full focus?!?
It could be your job, it could be your relationship, it could be for yourself... the first step is to reflect and take note on where you are not present.
Then your next step is to just take a deep breath, give yourself some grace, and show up just a bit more present moving forward. BE PATIENT WITH YOURSELF. You won't change overnight! Yet, you can make massive strides towards being fully present over the next month. :)
Go crush your week!!!

p.s. today I am grateful that I got to compete with my wife and friends. It was an exhilarating moment that I will never forget. Go challenge yourself to achieve difficult/challenging things with people who will cheer you on!!!
