You can do anything, you can't do everything.

We are officially 3+ weeks into parenting. :)
And while there has been so many lessons learned, there has ben one that has stuck out to me so far.
"You can do anything, you can't do everything."
Business.
Workouts.
Relationships.
Personal Hobbies.
Reading.
Writing.
All the messages.
Keeping the house in order.
.
.
With a child in the mix, all of your time is now under a microscope.
This is of course something I knew coming into my new role as DAD.
I just didn't know what things would get shuffled around on the priority list.
One of them that had to drop was keeping up with my writing.
You haven't heard from me in awhile...
For no other reason than I can't do everything at once.
And before Aiden was born I took a leap to make my writing platform better by switching email/newsletter services... which ended up not working because it was sending my messages into the promotion folders of those receiving them (but no longer noticing them).
So I asked myself what would make it possible for me to get back to my writing with less friction?
Switch back to my old platform.
And yeah maybe I won't have the fancy tools and templates anymore that will help "improve" my newsletters over the long run...
But what I will have is my ability to continue to WRITE and satiate my need to help provide solid value to YOU.
I can't afford to lose this piece of me.
And if it means that I have to simplify my processes to make sure I keep this piece going, so be it.
For you, I am sure you can think of a piece of you that has been dropped because you too "can't do everything" at once.
Here is me poking you to figure out a way to get that piece of you back in the mix.
Maybe it has to look a little less perfect.
Maybe it has to happen a little more infrequently.
Maybe it has to adapt to the new ways you go about your life.
Whatever it is, it's a piece of you.
And for you to live your life to the fullest, it deserves to remain within your life.
It's Friday.
Which means you have a chance to integrate that "piece" back in this weekend. :)
Go make it happen!

p.s. today I am grateful for all the people who have sent messages/gifts/meals/love to Erin and I over the past month. You mean the world to us! Keep spreading your great energy.
