I want the best for my people...

rather than the best from my people.

Say that again.

I want the best FOR my people, rather than the best FROM my people.

What does this ^^^ mean?

It's a simple framework shift that I feel a lot of people could benefit from.

Example:

During your career you will most certainly manage other people at some point.

Most people go about managing others by figuring out "how can I get the most from my employees? How can I get the best out of them?"

While most people have good hearts, and good intentions, it still doesn't mean they are approaching the situation in the correct manner.

Flip your career into your personal life and recognize areas where you have wanted things FROM other people.

Rather than asking yourself how you can approach it in a way that is the best FOR them.

If you set your life of to be of service, and always ask yourself how you can help others set themselves up for success by asking yourself "what is the best for my people..." you will ultimately find an increased level of joy and gratification, as well as the success that comes along with it.

Now let me be clear, I am NOT saying let other people stomp all over you.

I am asking you to have an open dialogue with others to communicate with them and understand what is best for their own long term goals, wants, needs... and figure out how you can be a part of helping them get there.

When we do the best for, rather than expect from...

WE ALL WIN.
