Friendship.

Last Saturday I completed my 10th HYROX Fitness Race.

This time around, I did the "doubles" category with my 20+ year friend Alex Radcliffe.

He is someone who grew up on the same street as me, we both went to Rutgers University, and both joined the same fraternity.

We also both have an insatiable appetite to work hard and become better men.

When it comes to friendship, a lot of people search for people that will "have their back" during the tough times.

This ^^^ is contrary to how I approach friendships.

Over the years I have looked to surround myself with people who will LEAD FROM THE FRONT.

During tough times you will witness these types of people encouraging others to dig deeper, work harder, and get the most out of every heartbeat and breath.

These are the people who are changing the lives around them for the better.

And I am blessed that I get to call many of these people, my friends.

.

.

Alex in particular, he is one of the top financial advisors in his company.

He puts an immense amount of energy into his relationship with his wife, his family, and his friends.

And he consistently makes time to improve his physical, mental, and spiritual capabilities.

He leads from the front.

I've been blessed to experience it first hand during HYROX, where at times I found myself struggling to catch my breath, and he makes sure we keep moving forward during the race to earn the goal time we set for ourselves.

The beauty is...

During certain times of the race I do the same for him.

Both of us understanding at times we need to lead, while other times we need to be lead.

This is true friendship

And it is something I hope you get to experience during your life.

p.s. I am grateful for all the moments I have experienced with my friends over the course of the 10 races I have participated in.
