Change is certain.

There are only a few things in life that are certain.
CHANGE is one of them.
Yesterday while I was on a podcast, the host asked me what are steps people could take to start something new?
In other words, he asked what habits do people need to lean into so that they break their fear of CHANGE and begin a new path.
Because at the end of the day, to start anything, means to embrace change in some shape or form.
And over the course of my life I have realized I have the opposite issue, I am addicted to change. The same old, same old bores me.
Maybe you are like me, maybe not.
Yet, one thing I do know for certain..
whether you like it or not, change is going to happen in your life.
So why not get good at it and embrace it?
Here are a few tips I use to embrace change and start new things.
- Starting it does not mean you have to finish it. I think this is something most people struggle with. You can't fathom just going to one fitness class when you already paid for the bundle, only reading one chapter of the book you spent $20 on, or starting a business only to shut it down months later. Fuck that. Life is too short! Pick things up, put them down. It is your choice. One life to live babyyyy! So LIVE IT.
- Focus on what you can do today. People don't start things because they become overwhelmed by everything that needs to get "done" in order to finish them. The reality is, there are only 24 hours in a day... so start there with this constraint. What are are a few things you can do today that will move the ball up the field? Then go do this every day, forget the rest.
- Be proud of all the changes you have already endured in life. Here is your reminder that you went from a baby that couldn't walk, talk, or even wipe your own ass...to an adult that can read/write/speak and do all the amazing things humans can do. You have went through, and conquered so many things in life already. Remind yourself of this everytime you go to start something new. You MUST BE your biggest hype man/woman in all scenarios.
- HIRE someone. Whether it is a therapist, coach, or consultant... build a team of people around you who will hold you accountable to the changes you say you wish to make, or the ideas/projects/businesses you wish to start.
2022 is your year to finally step into embracing the uncertainty, and accepting that change is inevitable. You will decide to be STRONG AF and make the most of yourself and this beautiful thing you call life.
And I'll be right here supporting you on that path!

p.s. it is foggy as hell today. A few days ago it was sunny outside. The weather is a direct example of how every day we endure change whether we like it or not. And for that I am grateful! Life would be o boring if it was the same thing every single day.
