DO NOT seek praise...

...seek criticism.
Below I have highlighted a short snippet from
"It's not how good you are, it's how good you want to be." by Paul Arden
^^^ this book sits on the coffee table in my podcast room always reminding me that no matter how good I get, I always have room for improvement.
"It is quite easy to get approval if we ask enough people, or if we ask those who are likely to tell us what we want to hear.
The likelihood is that they will say nice things rather than be too critical. Also, we tend to edit out the bad so that we hear only what we want to hear.
So if you have produced a pleasantly acceptable piece of work, you will have proved to yourself that it's good simply because others have said so.
It is probably ok. But then it's probably not great either.
If, instead of seeking approval, you ask, 'What's wrong with it? How can I make it better?' , you are more likely to get a truthful, critical answer.
You may even get an improvement of your idea.
And you are still in a position to reject the criticism if you think it is wrong."

My challenge for you as you head into another new week...
Ask yourself ⬇️
- HOW can you improve upon your current "work?"
- WHERE can you go sharpen up who you are?
- WHO is willing to give you critical feedback that you trust in their response?
Here is how I have lived that the past couple months...
- Hired Scott Simmons to grill my content system and processes.
- I have purposely worked out with other people to force myself to get better, I also signed up for an ultra marathon which will force me to seek coaching in that area.
- My wife and I hired a doula and are going to go to baby classes because we want to be as prepared as possible for when Aiden is born.
And a few more things.
Now it is your turn!
Go crush your week!

p.s. today I am grateful for the time I was able to spend with friends on Friday and Saturday. Soon my time will be consumed with my son, so being able to deepen some of my relationships now has been fulfilling to me.
