If you want to change the world...

you have to change people's behaviors.
And this behavior starts with your own.
You don't trust the teacher who has never actually done what they are teaching you to do.
You don't trust the coach who has never played the sport they are teaching you to play.
You don't trust the friend who's given you advice in areas of your life that they never have lived themselves.
So why then do you so easily trust that the behaviors that have gotten you to this point in your life....you instinctively believe that they will also get you to higher points that you have never been yet?!?!
This is a completely false narrative you are telling yourself though.
Your ego is getting in the way.
It is easy to not trust the teacher/coach/friend... and much harder to look ourselves in the mirror and tell ourselves that our actions and behaviors aren't adding up to who we want to become.
Example:
I will stick to something I know super well...health and fitness.
I have been "fit" my entire life, yet I have only been healthy relatively recently.
Why?
Because I didn't trust the coaches/teachers/doctors...with good reason...but I also instinctively overly trusted myself and my own behaviors.
I could workout and be "fit," but then I could also allow myself to get drunk every week, sleep like shit, and ultimately treat my body as the opposite of a temple.
Then I would complain to people how I felt sick, run down, anxious, and depressed at times...while leaving out the details that I knew I had to quit putting my body through hell.
My ego though, my ego said "CJ you look way better than years before, you are a great athlete, it's all good homie...just keep doing your thingggg."
^^^
This cycle went on for over a decade.
I wanted so badly to reach the next step of my health journey, yet my behaviors kept me in a stagnant state for so long.
What changed it for me?
- Reading a lot of books on mindset/psychology.
- Adjusting my mental/physical/spiritual health principles through podcasts.
- Surrounding myself with other people who were also doing 1 & 2.
And I want to be the change for you!!!
Where in your life right now do you know that you need to change your behavior? Deep down you know that taking the same actions over and over again will never lead to a different outcome...no matter how badly you hope and wish for it to.
I want you to confront that behavior this week.
I want you to label that behavior.
I then want you to write down the behavior you need to take action on.
THEN GO DO IT!
Once.
Twice.
Consistently use the new behavior over and over again.
You will get stronger and stronger at the replaced behavior.
And the cool thing is... you can then go on to replace even more behaviors in the future!!!
Lets get after it this week!

p.s. Today I am grateful that I was able to get out in the sun this past weekend. Very much needed vitamin D. I am feeling so much energy going into this week! Cheers!
