Come with questions, not answers.

The more you start to learn in life, the more you start to realize there is still yet so much to learn.

Why does it seem like our society has an incessant need to put pressure on you to be "right" all the time?!?

For those new to this list, you may not know of my obsession with education reform. Now you do. :)

And one of the ways I want to reform education is to normalize asking more questions.

I have personal witnessed how ill equipped a lot of young adults are for the world. It is sad because in today's age there has never been a better time to ask questions...we have the internet and google fingertips away!!!

But the education system has trained us that there is a "right" answer and a lot of "wrong" ones.

Yet, life is way more fluid than that.

Example: what do you want to do with your life? Why do you want to do it? Who do you want to be around while you are going after it? How are you going to make it happen?

When I am coaching, these questions tend to cripple a lot of people I am working with. Why? Because their is an infinite amount of solutions to them. However, we have not been programmed to have the self awareness to understand what is the "right" answer for us as individuals. And we only find the answers by TAKING ACTION and trying different things to see what we do or don't like.

Sadly, many never take the actions though, and they default to whatever sounds "right" for them to do based on what their friends, family, parents, etc... want to hear/see from them.

DON'T BE A DEFAULT ANSWER!!! Your life is meant for more!

My challenge for you...

Stop worrying about having all the answers. Instead, start asking yourself deeper questions that you may have to go out and LIVE to finally come to an answer or conclusion.

The questions you ask, they will provide you an adventure that you cannot even see yet. Your life will be more fulfilling, more exciting, and ultimately a much better story for you to tell.

And guess what? There is no "right" way to do it. Just YOUR way!

Have a wonderful Sunday! I hope your New Year has kicked off with some questions for you to go find the answers to.

p.s. today I am grateful that my parents accepted me when I asked a lot of questions as a kid. They never put me down for always asking "why." Sadly, I cannot say the same thing for all the teachers I have had over the years.
