Play long term games.

One of the best mental model concepts that I believe in, and think EVERYONE should ponder on...
If you wouldn't be with the person for a lifetime, don't be with them for a day.
If you wouldn't work with the person/company for a lifetime, don't work with them for a day.
If you wouldn't build the project, start the company, be the employee... for a lifetime, don't do it for a day.
^^^
I want to be very clear, this is not an ABSOLUTE way of thinking.
Meaning, you don't have to chain your entire life to all the choices you make today.
The model is meant to help you make better long term decisions.
EXAMPLE:
You are applying for two jobs.
- One entices you because it has significantly higher pay... yet lacks the ability for advanced skill learning and upward growth.
- The other scares you because the pay isn't as high as you want... yet deep down you know will learn more, connect more, and grow into who you see yourself wanting to become.
What do you choose?
Do you choose the safety in the now?
Or do you give yourself a shot at living the life you want over the long run?
Of course there is nuance to this, as there is nuance to all areas of life.
The reason I am writing this today, is because school does not teach you, and society does not condition you... to have long term thinking.
It teaches you to live in fear and take what is directly in front of you.
If you reflect on your life, I am almost positive some of the best things to ever happen for you, they have resulted from the times that you decided to choose the longer road.
Am I correct?

Today marks the first day of the 2022 How Do You Health Festival. (If you have no plans this weekend, you should come hangout and experience ALL THINGS HEALTH. Use code THRIVEON for 20% off your ticket)
This is the second year we are hosting it at Music Hill Ranch and with 50+ speakers and 50+ sponsors/vendors it is going to be an amazing way to wrap up this year.
How Do You Health is something that fits into the "play long term games" for me.
As it does for the rest of the team.
Behind the scenes we have been working relentlessly all year to improve upon last year's festival.
This is on top of everyone's "day" jobs.
And most of the time, it is a few people doing the jobs of many.
The team wants to live in a healthier and happier world.
So much so, that we go above and beyond to build communities that share knowledge, resources, experiences that bring our dreams and visions of a healthier world to life.
And I could not be more proud, grateful, and excited for it all.
I tell you this because I want you to find your own version of
"How Do You Health."
What are you willing to work on / work towards for the long run?
What vision/mission to you have for your life?
Think about this ^^^ over the course of this December.
And in January, I expect you to start taking LONGER strides in the direction of your long term path. :)
