When is the last time you wrote a poem?!?

Why did you stop producing art after finishing "school?"

This is something I asked myself recently.

Was it the responsibility of paying bills that made art seem like a "waste of time?"

It is something I still ponder.

Art brings out our expression as human beings.

And my gut tells me there are so many people in pain out there solely because they do not know how to express their true selves.

I want to help those people!!!

The best way to do so? Produce art and inspire others to give it a go.

So here is a poem I wrote on May 8th, 2019.

He had the world in the palm of his hands.

Until one day he couldn't stand, sitting in the mind of a man with a plan.

To unlock the dreams of the world, he said he can, he can, he can.

But the dreams of the world carried demons unseen.

A life floating in space.

A life fleeting of meaning and just being.

It always overfilled his plate, always made him late, leaving him in constant debate of how to be great.

He came to his senses, defeating the potion of the society that says to always be in constant motion.

He slowed himself down, set himself straight.

From changing the world, he realized that was never his fate.

But CREATING his world...that never needed a hand.

Only a MIND set on fire to STAND up for his true clan.

I will let this poem sink in and mean whatever it is you interpreted it as. Just know, that the words in this poem are the essence of my being. I wrote it in my notes on my phone as I was 30,000 feet up mid-flight. I don't know what it is about flying, but some of my best thoughts happen there. Maybe because there is no distractions (maybe other than crying babies lol).

As we approach another weekend, I challenge you to spend some time with yourself and produce some kind of art. Whatever that means to you, just go for it. Think back to when you were a kid and what you looked forward to creating.

Fun fact, I am colorblind, so drawing/painting was never really my thing. I have always enjoyed writing though, or building things with my hands. How about you?!?

If you are feeling up for it, I would love if you could share your art with me. I promise not to show it to anyone unless that is what you want.

Art inspires more art, and the world these days needs more art from all of us.
