Out with the old, in with the new.

Nov 30, 2020 8:16 pm

Today is the last day of November, which means tomorrow is the start of the last month of 2020.

Many people, maybe even you, are looking forward to 2021. Sadly, the reality will be the same old shit unless you take action and decide to change.

Then inspire others to change because of your ACTIONS.

Otherwise, you are just the person who doesn't even follow their own lead.

And that is exactly what we have a lot of these days.

A bunch of keyboard warriors, that when push comes to shove, they don't lift a finger to do anything else.

Don't be like them!!!

For 99.99 percent of us...the change I am talking about...it is with ourselves.

And this change starts with you, me, and the rest of our population taking better care of our physical, mental, and spiritual health.

I went to a health talk last night where the speaker asked an intriguing question...what if doctors got paid more for patients NOT returning to their offices for medical treatment. Meaning, if doctors & practitioners cured people, and then got paid handsomely for them NEVER returning. Wouldn't this incentivize healthcare practitioners to actually heal patients? Hmmmm.

This question then got me thinking....what if we just had a healthy population in the first place? Then the need for medical treatment would be sporadic, rather than the ritual that it is for many. Simple economics, if the demand went down, so would costs for everyone.

Now I have a lot of opinions on how we should tackle this to create a better future for everyone. I also know my opinions don't matter and that I don't know jack shit about how I can change it for the masses...YET. But what I can do is CHANGE MYSELF.

Which is exactly what I plan to continue doing in 2021.

I will hold myself accountable to investing in my physical, mental, and spiritual health. I will continue to take things into my own hands and encourage others to do the same.

Here is how...

  1. Get a Men's comprehensive blood panel done every quarter. This will give me insight into my health stats for the entire year of 2021 when I look back.
  2. Continue to eat more farm-to-table foods. Minimize all sugar. And have no alcohol in 2021 besides the drinks I have at the weddings I will be attending. Celebrating the most important day of someone I care about deserves a toast. :)
  3. Meditate & read EVERY SINGLE DAY. No excuses. Even if it just means 1 minute of each.
  4. Move and stretch EVERY SINGLE DAY. Same recipe as above.
  5. Go on the most walks, runs, bike rides in one year compared to the past couple years combined. Why these? Because they will lead me to being outside in nature more aka more sun & fun. NO EXCUSES.
  6. Spend more time with my wife Erin. She brings me so much joy and I need more days off the grid with just her.

I am sure there will be more that I add to the list. I know that if I start my focus on the things listed above, all the other areas of my life will fall in line.

The point of this whole email is to encourage YOU to join with me. I would love for you to write your own list like above, showcase it, then inspire/motivate someone else to do the same. Literally the way that we change the world for the better...is to make ourselves better. And I look forward to connecting with you on my journey to become a better me, in hopes that maybe you feel like you want to become a better you.

I hope you have an amazing Monday, and kick this week's ass!

ps: today I am grateful for the people that showed up to last night's talk. Witnessing so many people who care to make a positive change, it inspires me to continue on my own journey. And for that, I am forever thankful. The ATX is such a special place and I am grateful the universe made me land here when it did.
