Nobody will ever care about you...

as much as YOU can care about you.
You have to set the timer.
You have to wake up.
You have to put the work in.
You have to fight the pain.
You have to relax.
You have to recover.
You have to decide on happiness.
You have to decide on your values.
YOU have to CARE about YOU.
One of the things I have struggled with over my entire life, is slowing down and just being present in the moment. As a kid they called it hyperactivity. Have you ever felt this way? Or you had someone think/say this about you?
As an adult, I have dug deep into my own psyche, to find the reality of it all. And what did I find? That I have been running from my truest self my entire life. The "always on the go" attitude was comfortable to me. I said YES to everything so that I never had to look in the mirror and face myself. Face the fact that I had absolutely no clue what I wanted from life, why I wanted it, or who I wanted to even experience it with.
The root cause?
My ego.
The fact is, if you never face yourself and ask what you want from this life, you can never really let yourself down. It is called playing small, or playing it safe.
When you get laid off from the job,
"eh it wasn't my first choice of job anyway, good riddance."
When you can't lose the weight / gain the strength,
"eh the trainer just wasn't right for me."
When you struggle to get the guy/girl
"eh there's no good people around here."
You (me) walk around protecting our ego rather than taking complete ownership over our lives.
What do I mean by that?
Complete ownership means that YOU CARE ABOUT YOU so much... that you refuse to waste a single heartbeat on things that do not serve you. You realize how precious life is, so you take control of the two things that you can...
- Your work ethic.
- Your attitude. (aka be positive)
-----I've mentioned these before-----
And when you realize how precious this life is, when you start taking better care of yourself, you stop running around chasing things. Instead, you decide exactly what it is that you want out of this life, WHY you want it, and who you want to experience it with.
You work a job that YOU chose.
You have friends that YOU enjoy being around.
You participate in hobbies and activities that YOU enjoy.
You spend time in a way that serves YOU.
You take care of YOU.
And you don't let anything get in the way of it.
___________
The inspo for writing this came from one of my favorite quotes of all time...
“I learned many great lessons from my father, not the least of which, was that you can fail at what you don’t want so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love. ”– Jim Carrey
I like it so much because I can specifically think back in my life to how many things I have said yes to, solely because if I failed at them, I would not "feel hurt" because I didn't care anyway.
LIFE IS TOO SHORT NOT TO CARE!!!
If more people looked in the mirror, and took better care of themselves, the abundance of energy that they could then pour onto this world would bring so much peace and joy.
Lets be one of those people.
Lets care about ourselves and take a chance on doing what we love.
Then lets lend a hand to others and help them do the same.
