It's life, Jim, but not as we know it...

Hello!

Friday seems to roll around very quickly for me at the moment - I hope it's not the case for you!

I was thinking about the week I'd had and this popped into my head. I seem to have a slight memory of running around the infants playground at school, arms linked, singing this with a friend. (No idea why, as we were probably too young for Star Trek at that point!)

If you have no clue what I'm talking about, here's a link to the song. If you do, it's worth a click just to see if the song is what you remember...

Anyway, it seemed like the perfect quote for this week. At the weekend, I watched The Dreamers and The Thing, very different films, but neither is exactly family friendly.

I had a visit from family this week, which was lovely. I hadn't seen them in about six months, so it was long overdue. It seemed to sum up how the world is at the moment - trying to get back to normal, but not quite... I think this will definitely continue when children return to schools next week. It definitely doesn't seem like six weeks since I mentioned that we were at the point that schools usually broke up for summer!

It was lovely showing family around the studio, looking at the set up I've got, and having a little chat about what I do. The 3D printer was the main attraction, although I'm still a long way from being an expert myself! I do find it very satisfying to see objects emerging from the goo of the resin. It's sort of like rewinding the end of Terminator 2.

I've also been working on my first bespoke pieces, which is part of a new service I'm offering. All the details will be on the website shortly, but here's a sneak preview of the work in progress.

I'll share the finished pieces with you next week. Until then, I hope you had a good week, and are managing to stay dry!

See you soon,

Joy
