Hello from a very blowy Yorkshire!

Hope the last week has been good to you. As I've been watching the results saga unfold, for both A levels and GCSEs, it has struck me that 2020 has been a year like no other - and it's far from over. I saw this mug design, which really made me chuckle:

It got me thinking about what rating I'd give other years in my past, like the years I got my own GCSE and A level results. If you'd told me back then that I'd end up running my own business as a jewellery designer... I definitely wouldn't have believed you!

The way life works out is often 'funny' and they say that the truth is stranger than fiction. This got me thinking about something that has then inspired what will be a new collection in a few weeks. It's true that inspiration comes from the strangest of places, and this was no different.

This week, I've also started reading The Story Brand by Donald Miller. This is a fantastic book that applies movie structure to business - heaven! There was a warning that it would ruin movies for me, but I ploughed past that, as I'm pretty sure it's impossible. So far, no spoilers!

The book is all about getting your message out there, and that's something I need to work on.

I'm not someone who would naturally spend time on social media. My previous jobs have all been computer-related, and I've spent a lot of time looking at screens. The last thing I wanted to do at the end of the day was stare at another one - y'know, unless it was a big screen with a movie on! :0)

Hopefully this week has been good for you as well, and there's been something that has made you feel inspired. As so many movies convey (and American Beauty actually says) there is so much beauty in the world - even when you don't expect it. Sometimes you just have to pay a little more attention, and it's all you see.
