“I am not capable of doing big things, but I want to do everything, even in the smallest things, for the greater glory of God” - St. Dominic Savio
Editor’s Note
Hi ! Welcome to the first edition of the ChiRhoRob Newsletter! As you can see, we’re pretty bare bones here until we start investing in better visuals. If anyone knows an aspiring graphic designer that would like to take on a pet project, feel free to send them my way.
A few goals of this newsletter as we get things started is to equip you with what you need to know to grow in your faith, raise your awareness of current events in our Church, and strengthen your prayer life. I’ll be sharing my own reflections and thoughts from things that are happening in the Church and my own studies while in formation with the Lay Dominicans.
Sunday Reading Summary - Link to Readings
First Reading – Acts 2:1–11
Second Reading – 1 Corinthians 12:3b–7, 12–13
Gospel – John 20:19–23
As we celebrate Pentecost, the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and the birthday of our Church, the readings reveal how the Holy Spirit brings life, unity, and mission to the Church. In our first reading from Acts, the Spirit empowers the apostles to speak in many languages, breaking through barriers and proclaiming God’s mighty works. Then in Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians, he reminds us that the Spirit gives diverse gifts to each person, but always for the good of all. Finally in John’s Gospel, Jesus breathes the Spirit upon the disciples, sending them forth with peace and the power to forgive sins. Let our prayer this weekend not only include thanking God for the many gifts and blessings he has given us,but also include some quiet time to meditate and listen to where God is asking us to serve.

Catholic Shop of the Week
The Little Rose Shop
Meet Raquel—Catholic wife, mom, and the heart behind The Little Rose Shop. Once a 21-year-old single mom in college, Raquel found herself in a season of deep challenge that sparked a powerful reconversion to her Catholic faith. Out of the beautiful mess of motherhood and rediscovered belief, she created something more than a shop—she built a mission.
The Little Rose Shop offers practical, faith-filled creations that bring God's love into the ordinary. Whether it's a cozy sweatshirt that speaks scripture or a thoughtful gift that reminds someone they’re not alone, every item is a small, intentional way to live out the motto: “Created to Create.”
Because grace isn’t reserved for perfect moments—it blooms in the crumbs and chaos.

Contemplative Corner
Discover the Holy Spirit's Transformative Love
In her article, Growing to Know & Love the Holy Spirit, Sr. Mary Ann Fatula, O.P., invites us to deepen our relationship with the Holy Spirit, the living Love between the Father and the Son. She shares insights from saints like St. John Henry Newman and St. Angela of Foligno, illustrating how the Holy Spirit brings peace, joy, and renewal to our lives. By turning to the Holy Spirit daily, we open ourselves to His tender guidance and transformative power.
Apostolate Spotlight
Walking with St. Augustine: The Augustinian Third Order
The Augustinian Third Order offers lay men and women a unique path to deepen their spiritual lives by embracing the Rule of St. Augustine while living in the secular world. Rooted in the principles of community, prayer, and service, members strive to be "of one mind and heart on the way to God." Through regular gatherings, study of Sacred Scripture, and active participation in parish life, Third Order Augustinians cultivate a closer relationship with God and neighbor, embodying the Augustinian charism in daily life.
