Searching for a Muse to Help Me Party

Hello Dear Readers!
I spelled deer wrong in my last full-length epistle. 😳🫣 But see that ... I DO know how to spell it when I pay attention. D-E-E-R. The worst thing about it is that the misspelling ruined the joke. 🤣 I have my priorities straight.
Now on to discuss Little Moreton Hall. Have any of you ever been there? I've not, though I have visited it through a plethora of YouTube videos in the last week. I was looking for a house to inspire the one where the hero and heroine jaunt off to in His Mistress, His Muse, and Other Madness for a house party. And I found this:
I mean, that's a STOP SCROLLING NOW type house, right? This is Little Moreton Hall, a Tudor era house, and that scorch mark low on the chimney looks like it has glowing eyes. If any house was going to arrest and inspire the imagination, it's this one! But it gets better. Because when you read about it, you find out ... there's a moat. Yes, a body of water surrounds this house and, apparently, there is only one, ONE level surface in the entire place. Even the floors are wavy.
Little Moreton Moreton Hall has ALL the character. Currently, I'm using it as the inspiration for my house party. Gotta find something good to do with that moat.
So far, my research has shown that after the mid to late 17th century, there's not much to say about the house until the 1880s. That's a huge period of time! But my research has been very cursory, so hopefully I'll find out if people were living in it during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. But as the house is inspiration for my work in progress, I'll likely end up taking what I want, what works nicely and is conceivable for my story, and filling in the blanks with my imagination.
I'm curious ... would you spend the night at Little Moreton Hall?
Before we move on to book recs, I have some pretty neat news to share. I've been nominated for the RONE award for Daring Done Right. The next round of the award is reader voting, so if you feel so inclined, consider casting a vote to help get me to the next round.
You can vote here. You do have to create an account and click into a verification email they send in order to do so, but the instructions are there on the page I've linked to. Voting for steamy historical romance ends April 17!
I'm so honored to be nominated. There's nothing better than writing a book readers enjoy. I do this because I LOVE love stories, and want to give like-minded readers the same stories that have always pulled me through shadowy times. Much gratitude to all of you for reading. 🥰
Take a look at a new book!
The truth? I've been typing away furiously on His Mistress, His Muse, and Other Madness, so I don't have much for you today. Many humble apologies. But I've got good stuff planned for you in May. In the meantime, see if anything catches your eye in these promotional collections!
