Hello, lovely readers!

One more week until Court a Lady With Care releases, and I thought I'd treat you guys to a bit of the research I did for this book. There was lots of it, but what I want to tell you is more of a story.

Rowan Trent, the hero, is of Irish descent, and he grew up with his mother telling him Irish stories. I wanted these stories to be real ones, so I found a book on Irish fairytales at my local library. I found some wonderful stuff, and the book had lovely illustrations to go along with the stories. Before I'd begun to really read the stories in it, though, my four year old discovered it and decided it needed to be the new bedtime book. So we snuggle up and open the book and... immediately there are terribly violent seal kings.

I've read Hans Christian Anderson. I've read the Grimm brothers. Really, I should have known. 🤣 At least I can say he won't be surprised if he ever reads the original Little Mermaid after watching the Disney movie.
