Heores Who Hate Emotion and the Ladies Who Love Them

Greetings, dear readers!
I had two books release in the first two weeks of February, and let me tell you... WHOO. I'm beat. As I've been melting into my couch and trying to encourage the regrowth of my brain, I've reflected a bit on both books that released this month and found a surprising discovery.
Seriously. I wrote the books. Why am I the one who is surprised?
But I am!
Because both heroes in my March releases are, um, emotionally challenged. 🤣 They are shut off for one reason or another, and their emotionally repression keeps them from love even when it's right in front of their faces.
I think the ladies really shine in these two books, though. They have to in order to drag these fellas into some sort of emotional understanding. In Silhouette of a Spinster and Other Seductions, Amelia is pining and so in love but also losing hope. Until Lord Andrew shows up on her doorstep in the rain. And kisses her. Of course he apologizes to her after that 🙄, but it gives her hope! And purpose. If he kissed her once, he probably wants to do it again...
Lottie from How to Romance a Rogue is also the determined sort. And she's not scared to go after exactly what--who--she wants. Quinton never stands a chance. And once he realizes this, he's... not mad about it.
Anyway, a little anecdote about Spinster you might be interested in...
It almost didn't happen. 😬
No joke. Everyone goes through moments where we kind of feel defeated, right? And when it came time to write this book, I almost... couldn't. Hard to pinpoint why. It was just... these Bromley brothers and their family drama felt entirely beyond my abilities. So I decided not to write it. Or the final book in the series, Atlas's story. I said "bye bye, Bromleys!" But then, about a week later, I got angry and said "NO! I want to write this book, so I will do it." I wrote the entire thing in a mood of fierce defiance. ❤️🔥
And am so glad I did. Because now Lord Andrew's story is out in the world and Lord Atlas's story is deep in edits at the moment. Word from my editor is that Atlas is her favorite hero I've ever written, so do with that what you will. She likes the strong, silent type. So do I. And Atlas delivers. With a side of cheekiness.
So I highly recommend fierce defiance and just doing the thing when a wall slams right up against you. I'm glad I did. And I think in both books I've just released, Amelia and Lottie are glad they did, too.
