Cameos in Public and in Fiction

Lovely readers!
First, for my audiobook lovers, the Daring Done Right audiobook is on sale right now! 50% off! You can take a look at it here! Daring Done Right is the final book in my Debutante Dares series, and it's about Sarah, a daring woman who wins money by doing daring deeds then uses it for a charity hospital. When the hospital is at risk of closing, she must partner with an unlikely man--the incredibly unlikeable Xavier Evans, Viscount Flint, the Dare King. It's a battle of the sexes where everything is on the line, including two hearts.
I'm nervous, and I'll tell you why. I'm attending my first book signing at the end of this month! I'll be at a Knoxville romance bookstore Mis Amores and, my friends, I am SUCH an introvert. I'd rather chill in a cave reading or typing on my laptop 24/7 than go into public. (With the exception of circus antics. I will leave the cave to climb the ropes 😂) But I'll be with the lovely Carly Kaye, who published her debut historical romance in 2025. A Lady of Means is Mean Girls inspired and steamy, and I highly recommend it!
In Rake Review news, book 2 by Courtney McCaskill drops SOON. Have you started reading the series yet? I'm not up until June, but I'm working hard on Remmy and Tessa right now.
I'm also working hard to get Apollo and Sybil out into the world. I'm planning a cover reveal, which will happen soon! Until then, take a look at what kind of shenanigans you'll find inside...
A road trip, a morally gray hero in need of redemption, enemies to reluctant partners to lovers, an explosive past between them, and a little bit of magical "teach me" vibes. What are the historical romance aspects of this one? Well, other than the titled/working class divide we're all so familiar with, there's also the threat of ruination and limited choices for the heroine's future. It's just a newly Victorian world with magic, and as Sybil and Apollo road trip away from London, we get to learn more about that world and its magic from a rural perspective.
Oh, and this one has a lot of yearning. 😘

As I've already mentioned, I've been writing Jealous Rakes and June Mistakes and I've tried fitting in a variety of cameos from other characters in my other series. I tried Ophelia and Hades and Henry and Sarah. I haven't tried anyone from the Art of Love series yet, though, but they are kind of busy in 1822, so I don't know if Raph would be hanging out at house parties. His mom might be up for taking a holiday elsewhere, though, so if you hear any wailing in Jealous Rakes, that just might be her. 😂
Happy (rakish) reading,
Charlie Lane
