Dear Readers,
I just got back from a very rare vacation. I spent the last week building sandcastles with the kiddos, swimming, and eating delicious seafood.
And of course, dreaming up stories.
I'm back home and my fingers are flying across the keyboard to finish the first draft of a work in progress and to get another draft off to my copy editor.

Let me introduce you to the hero, Felix. He's socially a radical, a bare-knuckle bruiser when the moment calls for it, a daredevil for certain, and also bored. And also loves his grandfather. So when grandad says to take a wife, Felix just wants to make the old man happy. But not if it means marrying his childhood friend. The one he embarrassed years ago. The one who hasn't forgiven him since. The one he's never forgotten.
As I've said before, this book is also an origin story for my Hawthorne House novellas (like The Fake February Rake), and you'll get to meet some familiar characters (Mr. and Mrs. Beckett) when they were younger!
