Hello, lovely readers!

You might be asking: Are there love songs in this book?
The answer is yes.
Then you might want to know: Did Charlie write them?
The answer is also yes. 😳😬
Which leads into a small fact about me that I don't think I've mentioned... I started this creative writing thing as a poet! Most of the creative writing classes I took in school were poetry, my first narrative attempts were poems, and when I was working on my dissertation in my Ph.D. program (on the novel), one of my committee members told me I was a poet with a poet's mind even though I pretended interest in the novel. 🤣 This woman is the sharpest woman I've ever met. She was not wrong.
That being said, I'm a better reader of poetry than writer of it. So the songs I wrote for the book are definitely not masterpieces. I did study songs from the Regency era to learn their meter and structure, though! In the end only one of those Regency era songs made it into the book (chapter 3... I think?).
Do you have a favorite love song? What is it?

How about another peek at The Lord Who Adored Her and Other Love Songs! This is our first glimpse of the heroine!
A slippered foot first, then the hem of a sensible brown gown. But nothing else about the woman entering could be called sensible. She was a song in human form. Deep auburn hair, thick and silky, shiny and smooth. Lush pink lips and a birth mark just beneath her right eye. Creamy skin and the body of a goddess, all gorgeous curves draped like velvet over a tall, strong frame. Not as tall as him, but he’d not have to bend at the waist to kiss her.
Kiss her?
God, yes. His heart thumped to make it happen.
Happy reading!
Charlie
