The Brazen Belles, my multi-author Facebook reader group, is launching a new shared-world series in January 2024! The Rake Review series is about a mysterious gossip columnist called The Brazen Belle who chooses a new rake every month to skewer with her wit. Each month/rake is written by a different author--Cara Maxwell, me, Sadie Bosque, Annabelle Anders, Courtney McCaskill, Fenna Edgewood, Kate Bateman, Kathleen Ayers, Diana Bold, Tabetha Waite, Shana Galen, and Tracy Sumner.

Look at those gorgeous covers and fun titles! We've had a BLAST planning this series, and boy do we have fun times coming to celebrate once these books begin releasing in January 2024. Six of the books are already up for pre-order, including mine, The Fake February Rake.

My fake rake is Dr. Hades Jones, a physician to the ton whose stolen coat gets him called out and dubbed a rake of the worst sort by the gossip columnist who styles herself the Brazen Belle. But it wasn't him wearing that coat! And when he sets out to find the real rake, what he discovers shocks him--another fake rake, this one by the name of Lady Ophelia Howard.

If you've hung on this long, I'll reward you with a little behind the scenes look at what I was working on yesterday. Did you know that when you translate and publish an English language book into German, there are difficulties with titles?

In German, no two books can have the same title, and sometimes the translation of a title from English to German results in confusion. And... we all know how ridiculous and long my titles can be. 🤣 So yesterday, my translator and I were working on titles for The Cavendish Family Series. And, we ended up with almost entirely different titles for the German editions. In English, the German titles translate to:

A Marriage of Convenience for the Baron

A Rogue for the Bluestocking

A Viscount for Miss Cavendish

A Lady at Midnight

A Scandal for the Scoundrel

They definitely fit the books! What do you think? Do you like the English or German titles better?
